One of the unexpected gems of our road trip was an overnight stay at the Hi Way Cafe, tucked just off the highway on a quiet stretch of historic Route 66. With easy access from the road and a Love’s Travel Stop nearby for refueling, it made for a convenient and comfortable stop in every way.

We parked our RV next to a grassy area with picnic benches, which offered just enough late-day shade to relax and unwind after a long day on the road. While there was some occasional truck noise from the nearby highway, it was minor and didn’t disturb us at all during the night.

What truly made this stop memorable was breakfast the next morning. The HiWay Cafe served up a meal that rivaled any we’ve had on the road—tasty, hearty portions and warm, friendly service that made us feel right at home. It’s the kind of classic roadside diner experience that’s becoming harder to find, and we were grateful to enjoy it.

Whether you’re cruising Route 66 or just looking for a dependable overnight with a delicious breakfast to follow, HiWay Cafe is a great little stop. Friendly, flavorful, and full of charm.

Highly recommended!
