As far as state parks go, this one falls on the lower end of the scale. The campground is small and offers limited amenities—no hiking or biking trails, no ball fields, and no structured recreational activities.

While the park has a large wooded footprint, it’s bordered by a rundown urban area on one side and an industrial zone, including a wastewater treatment facility, on the other. The surrounding environment definitely detracts from the “escape into nature” feel that many state parks offer.

On the plus side, the park is conveniently located just 15 minutes from downtown Memphis and Beale Street, making it a practical choice for those wanting to explore the city without staying in an urban RV park.

The campground itself is set in a peaceful, wooded area. While small, it’s pleasant and the restrooms are above average for a state park.

Bottom line: T.O. Fuller is a decent option for a quick stopover to explore downtown Memphis, but it’s not a destination in and of itself. Plan to stay a night or two, not more.
